WOW - What a Weekend

Hi Everyone,

I have returned and recovered a most wonderful weekend in a beautiful part of the NSW - that is WINGHAM, near Taree, and it was the location of Scrapsidaisy's Retro Retreat. I had a total ball. Big thankyou has to go out to Linelle Bird for being a wonderful hostess and giving me a bed for the night. You are the Best Linelle! I miss you already.

The other awesome thing about the weekend was I played with heaps of Words or Whatever - WOW products especially their Alchemy Blooms and Cog Frame Set.

Firstly the Alchemy blooms were part of a class taught by Linda Baldock. Linda is a scream, she and Linelle both had me in stitches all weekend. Linda a mixed media experimental artist, taught us how to turn ordinary chipboard into awesome blooms that will suit any LO, OTP, broaches, neckbands, headbands, or whatever you can think of. There are 4 different styles of these Blooms, 2 of which are here

Now for the after shots......What do you think.....

Next we were given a challenge pack with some papers, alphas, and a photo corner everyone had the same pack and were required to created a LO using a bit of everything in the pack. Although the Papers were not quite what I would normally work with, I took on the challenge and added some Words or Whatever Cogs, from the Cog Frame Set to create this layout of my youngest son Sammy. The cog set is inked with a range of distress inks, and daubers, then UTEE applied over the top, in different thicknesses to give glassy finish to some areas, and a rippled effect to others. I am really happy with how they turned out. More surprising to me, was my LO was voted equal 2nd at the end of the retreat. Thanks to everyone who voted for me.

Anyone wanting to get some of these WOW products please contact your Local Scrapbook Store. I get mine from Scrapsidaisy in Wingham, or their online store. If you can't find what you want at your LSS or online, email Leisa from Scrapsidaisy who is more than happy to put in an order for you. Business holders can order direct from the Words or Whatever website.
