A WOW christmas

Hi Everyone,

Guess What!!!! Christmas is nearly here....as if I had to tell you that.

I got a lovely package of Goodies from Suzanne at Words or Whatever a week or two back and finally I have had time to complete a couple of creations with it.

Why not pop on over to the WOW blog site regularly this month and get some inspiration for your Christmas Goodies.

Here is Johnny, playing Santa last year for my work colleagues, he really acted out the character of an Aussie Santa well, including the rubber thongs.    I have used the "Gift Wrapping Page Border", and the "Stuffed!"  title.

I painted and inked the page border, then used clear embossing powder to geive texture to the holly leaves, and white embossing enamel to give the effect of a double layered ribbon.
For the title, I inked it in white, then stickled it with 'icicle' stickles.

And finally, here is a sneak peak of another layout, more of this one will be revealed later.

Don't forget to pop on over to the WOW blog site to get more inspiration

Just a quick one

I wanted a clip for my hair today, and didn't have what I wanted.

So Guess what I did....

...I made one out of the WOW Mini Alchemy Blooms by colouring with ink pads, then embossing and adding a pearl... So easy to have jewellery to match every outfit when you have WOW in the house.

why not head over to the Words or Whatever WOW Blog for some wonderful Chipboard inspiration.

Monster Truck Album

I asked Suzanne from WOW if she could make me an album based on a monster truck, as I have a couple of little friends who LOVE monster trucks.  I had fun with this album as you can see.

I firstly gave the tyres a 3D look using texture paste, and created a shaker box where the wheels go

Next, I painted and embossed the cab

After decorating the Wow - Small Tool Set and Screw Head Set I pieced the album together.

Thanks for the photos Jodi, and Evie and Jye for being wonderful models for the album.

Don't forget to hop on over to the Words or Whatever Blog spot for more chipboard inspiration

I am so looking forward to heading up to Wingham again at the end of this month, I going to help some of the lovely ladies with a shadow box and a boy themed Layout, here is a sneak peak of the shadow box and a pic of the LO.

Here is a couple of more LO's I have done.
WOW has wonderful cogs, for this LO I have used the cog border and separated the some of the coggs, and also two of the larger cogs from the cog Set.

More Cogs feature in this LO along with barbwire corner flourishes.

And My Favourite. 30cm MDF owly. Pop on over to the Words or Whatever blog site to see more on this owl, and other fabulous creations for the awesomely talented Design Team.

I am currently working on a fab Monster Truck Album, complete with shaker inserts in the wheels, textured tyres and pearled paint job. I will share that next week.

Also keep an eye out for the class I am going to be teaching in Wingham later this month

Till next time Friends

Custom Made MDF

In the continuing story of my Shed/scrap area, and having to ensure I am very Savvy with space and storage, I asked Suzanne and Neil from Words or Whatever to create some custom made boxes for me that can be stored in the wall that David will build for me.

The plan is not to put Gyprock on "my" side of the wall. David will put in extra battons creating spaces approximately 40cm square, and in will sit these boxes....Oh I also have asked him to make the wall with 4x2" timber, so I have a shelf depth of 4".

Here is one of the boxes completed, ready for the wall......

I plan to have a variety of techniques on the boxes, but in the same tones of pink, hop on over to the Words or Whatever blog for my mini technique blog on altering MDF, using crackle medium and sanding. While over there check out the rest of the creations from our wonderful design team members to give you inspiration!!!

Gone Fishing!

Another LO done, the first for my new scrap area. Yay, the shed is through council, and we have moved some things in. So I temporarily have my own scrap space again. I can leave things out, not finish projects, and have MY style of music playing.

Here is the first page I have done in the shed. It is Sammy, and the first fish he ever caught. He was so excited catching this "puffer fish" that I had to take a photo. (mind you it was many years ago now).

I first of all used Glimmer Mist and Some of the Words or Whatever - WOW Cog Set (c819), as masks to create background paper. Then painted the cogs, different colours, on two of them I added stickles, and the other two I used perfect pearls to give some texture. Next I used distress inks on the Gone Fishing title. I then used my favourite product of all time, UTEE, - Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, and my heat gun to create a glassy effect on the title. Here is a close up.

Finally, I would like to share with you a photo taken at Scrapsidaisy Wingham, This was a class I taught using Words or Whatever WOW's Ornamental Gate and Fence and Intricate Clock. The girls all did great Jobs, and Thanks for having me Leisa.

Take care All

SSSSI - Savy Space Saving Storage Idea No 1.

Hi all,

Well, we still do not have anything in the shed...long story...but though I should start working on my storage Ideas. As my area is only going to be 1.5 meters wide, and at least 1/2 a meter of that will be workbench space, I won't have much room for storage, so I need to become a little savvy.

I am very excited about what I am going to do for my paper storage, but you will all have to wait for the big reveal on that one..... Suzanne from Words or Whatever WOW and I have some "secret squirrel" business happening, WOW is able to custom make chipboard and MDF products, and they are helping me out.

But for now...Andrew has helped me recycle an old shadow box to become a storage frame....... What do you think?
Firstly, Andrew made up the shelves for me, and painted the base coat. then we added the frame to the outside, painted it with a variety of acrylics, crackles, and gold leaf rub'n buff, then I decorated it with the flowers and bling etc. Got some shot glasses, and separated my button container into colours, and with a couple of leftover glasses I had some room for brads too. I will have to go and get more shot glasses though.
I am thinking of running a strip of elastic along the underside of the frame and I can then thread ribbon through and have it hanging below the frame.

Now all I have to do is find somewhere to store it until I get the shed done...lol

Will keep you up to date with my next Savy Space Saving Storage Idea.

Home and Scrapped Cyber Crop

Hi ALL,

On the weekend I took part in the Home and Scrapped cyber Crop, I completed 3 challenges, and got a bit of my mojo back in the mean time.

This LO was for Angie's Technique Challenge, It was to create a background using odds and sods basically, then glimmer mist stamp etc, to come up with a fun technique. this is a Photo of Suzanne from WOW!, Leisa from Scrapidaisy
Linda Baldock and Myself at the wonderful Retro Retreat.

It features the WOW - Friends chippy, and a custom made chippy and some Alchemy flowers.

Next was a challenge by Kerrie, who wanted to celebrate her birthday with some Patterned paper for the back ground, ribbon, tag, something green and a quote.

Once again the Friends chippy word from WOW came straight to mind with this gorgeous flourish
which have both been inked and utee'd. You will see a couple of tags on these pages from friends at Scrapsidaisy they came as part of a "things that fly Tag swap" .

Finally I completed this page, it was a scraplift by Angie, I don't have the page we were to take inspiration from, but I chose the dominate colours which were Yellow and blue, to create this fishing page. It is of my wonderful Stepfather Dennis fishing on stockton beach when he visited one year. The Title and Embellishments are all from WOW which have been simply coloured with inks and textas, then utteed added sparingly to give texture.

I just love the little fishing embellishment kit.

Thanks for looking everyone....

Not even dry yet!

Hi all,
I had a bit of fun playing with yet another canvas this weekend. I had an image in my mind, and it turned out nothing like that, but I am happy all the same.
I thought I would add some inspiration a couple of friends firstly Some chipboard technique, use of flourish and lace from the beautiful Mistra Hoolahan. And the awesome Linda Baldock - with using a technique I learned from her recently, I played with inks and resin.

Add the Most wonderful Words or Whatever - WOW chipboard and I came up with
The small flowers are flower set buttons (c490) they come 6 set to a pack, and you can layer them on top of one another, or use singularly as I have here. They have been inked and then I have also added some highlights with rub n buff. The corner flourish (c1015) has been inked with a Versa ink pad, before being set in the resin.

This next lay out has the Intricate Clock and Ornamental fence and Gate from WOW. There will be more information to come on this LO in the very near future ;-)......... Stay tuned folks

Shadow Boxed

I had a new packagae of goodies arrive from Suzanne at Words or Whatever yesterday and couldn't resist having a play straight away.

One of the items was a shadow box, my favourite, I love transforming these now (since my first lesson from the beautiful Mistra Hoolahan), this is what transpired...

Lots of WOW Chipboard has been used here..

Firstly, I texture pasted a
290x290 shadow box frame and forced dried it until rubbery bubbles appeared, then by pushing down and skewing the bubbles I got a very quick rippled effect using only a relatively small amount of paste, which also quickens the drying time. then on goes layers of different coloured paints and topped with Kindy Glitz.

The
April Flourish C1109 and Ornate 2D Window C873 have been inked and UTEE'd,

Then the same with the
Lamppost C749 and Spear Picket Fence - C1091, only they also got attacked with Stickles.

Add some embellishments and you have a quick finished product.

Now, I had better go show the boys some attention seeing it is the Easter break and all

Take care everyone, have a happy and SAFE Easter

Hugs
